Cut Up

Life feels cut up into pieces, but the simple act of chopping on my cutting board feels like a meditation.

I’ve been wondering: what recipe should we make for the future? In a literal sense, I’m dreaming of picnics, fresh spring rolls, and sampling the best summer BBQ sauces. This time has given me a couple pinches of valuable inner clarity, but a few heaping teaspoons of confusion too.

I know many more of us are spending time in our kitchens and gardens, and are therefore reconnecting to our food. I started growing my own food again — and I have barely done so since I was farming in Chicago a full decade ago!

I personally hope to continue nurturing this direct, dirty, and precious connection to the Earth and to supporting life, even after we are no longer asked to stay home. This PLANET is home!! How about you, what’s in your recipe for the future?
