Stand Tall
Stand tall, all you beautiful flowers.
Did you know that these eye-catching flowers come from the high plains of Mexico? The name dahlia, however, comes from Andreas Dahl, a student of Carl Linnaeus.
And Anders Tidström, a disciple of pioneering botanist and taxonomist Carolus Linnaeus, met the then nine-year-old Dahl during a 1760 voyage, and mentions in his travel diary both young Anders' interest in botany, and his impressive collection of plants.
So when you look at a dahlia, don’t forget to think of your younger self’s curiosity and don’t forget to follow that thread.
And what about you!? What were you most curious about as a kid?! How do you connect to that today?
