How many stories can one peach hold?

The golden peaches of Samarkand on the Silk Road.

Epitaph for a Peach by Mas Masumoto.

James and the Giant Peach.

Princess Peach, my perennial Mario Kart character.

The heavy heat of the Georgia summer.

My family’s inside joke that we are “the pear tree peaches,” because of a mistake my grandpa made in my parents wedding speech.

One of the oldest peach images is in a still life from near ancient Pompeii—it evokes a moment frozen in time in so many ways.

And this time-stopping photo, which was shot (and later chosen as the cover!) for Fruit Tress for Every Garden, two summers ago. Thank you to our publisher, Ten Speed Press, and writers Orin and Manjula Martin for this incredible resource, and Stephanie Martin for her beautiful etchings.

So many peach stories! Do you have one about peaches or trees?
