Happy Valentine’s Day week! We will be sharing some fun aphrodisiac stories on our feed and our blog this week!

The first story is one about the origin of the artichoke. According to Ancient Greek mythology, when Zeus spotted Cynara, a beautiful mortal, he transformed her into a goddess. Homesick, Cynara snuck back to Earth, and when Zeus discovered this, he turned her into a spiny thistle: the artichoke! It’s contemporary scientific name, Cynara, reflects the story.
