A Feast of Archetypes

"Ritual acts give life meaning. They also honor and acknowledge the unseen web of Life that connects us all. They reminds us that we are part of something way bigger that is beyond our knowing and comprehension but can only be experienced and felt."

The Fall Equinox is nearly upon us, and so thus is my favorite season. With imminent change in the air as we sip the last sweet drops of Summer, I am feeling a bit more magical. If you share in the intrigue that this change brings, then the next Feast is undoubtedly for you.

This will be a Feast fueled by myth and wonder, and by an inquiry into the deeper stories of the world in times of great change. The stories will center on Warriors, Magicians, Kings/Queens, and Lovers.

The inspiration for this feast comes from my childhood. My parents are artists, and so I grew up steeped in conversations about mythology and archetypes in art and music. Their first date was to Stravinsky's Firebird (which tells the tale of a prince, a magician, and a mythical bird from Slavic folklore).

Influentially, my dad was also a fan of the book King, Warrior, Magician, Lover, by psychologist Robert Moore and mythologist Douglas Gillette. The book was written to help modern men explore what they deemed the "four archetypes of masculinity" and is a keystone of the modern mythopoetic men's movement. Personally, I have always found these archetypes equally useful for my own growth as a woman. My dad would often ask me to "find" my Queen in a moment where I needed to muster more resolve or step back for perspective. So in honor of the power that these archetypes have had for me through my life, the next Feast will be an exploration these archetypes through history, mythology, and literature.

And so, I am thrilled to announce that next Curated Feast theme will be A Feast of Archetypes, exploring the King/Queen, the Warrior, the Magician, and the Lover. Each course will have an archetypal pairing, and will focus on guests' participation throughout the meal.

We hope you will join us! Tickets are now available on Eventbrite!
